‘For mental and physical fitness, it really is good for this age group’: 55-Plus BC Games underway in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — Pauline DeWald is turning 75 on Saturday (Sept. 12), a first-time participant in the 55-Plus BC Games with energy to burn.
“We’re from the Yukon and we were absolutely thrilled to get this invitation to come down,” said DeWald, who was among the pickleballers in action on Day 1 of competition on Wednesday (Sept. 9) in Kamloops.
“They created a special zone for us. Zone 13. Lucky 13. I’m proud of the four women 75-year-olds competing in pickleball and all of the rest of the competitors. We have such enthusiasm.”
