Blazers drop shootout decision to Rockets as preseason rolls on

KELOWNA — The sprint towards the regular season continues for WHL teams working through the back half of training camps and preseason contests. 

The back half of a home-and-home weekend set with the Rockets was played in Kelowna Saturday with 60 minutes not enough to separate the interior rivals. 

Kamloops got goals from Collin Kim in the first, and Owen Cooper in the third to head into overtime tied 2-2. Overtime solved nothing, with the game decided in the shootout with the Rockets earning the weekend split.

The Blazers have three more preseason games, but just one remaining at home, that comes next Sunday, Sept 13 versus Prince George.
