City of Kamloops issues public warning after man seriously injured in Valleyview dog attack

KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops is asking residents for details following a serious dog attack in the Valleyview area that left one person needing medical treatment on Wednesday (Sept. 2) afternoon.

In a statement, the city said the attack is believed to have occurred around 12:00 p.m. near Kelly Douglas Road and Vicars Road. They note a pedestrian – who is believed to have been attacked by two loose, dark-coloured dogs – sustained serious injuries that required medical treatment.

Community Service Officers are looking into the incident, but the City of Kamloops said they have yet to find any leads.

“Community Service Officers responded to the area after the incident and have continued patrols to locate the dogs and identify their owners,” the city said in a statement. “At this time, the dogs and their owners have not been identified. The investigation remains ongoing.”
