Kamloops Legion disappointed by Hegseth’s controversial post about Canadian cadet program
KAMLOOPS — The fallout continues after the latest controversial social media post by U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth that appeared to mock the Canadian Armed Forces, and the cadet program.
The Kamloops Legion is the latest organization to speak out after Hegseth on Monday (Aug. 31) posted an image that depicted two young women in uniform with the caption ‘this is real’ alongside the Canadian flag.
“I was extremely disappointed because again it shows their lack of knowledge about our country,” Kamloops Legion President Mike Young told CFJC Today. “The picture that Hegseth saw, yes it came from Vernon cadet camp and it was a picture of two female cadets and he just made an off-the-cuff comment.”
