CRD downgrades final evacuation order due to French Bar Creek wildfire
100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The Cariboo Regional District (CRD) has lifted its final evacuation order in response to the French Bar Creek wildfire, while giving the ‘all-clear’ to other properties north of the fire.
The CRD said evacuated residents are now allowed to return home for the first time in over a month, after the order was first issued on July 17.
“Effective immediately, residents are allowed to return to the area. More information about re-entering the area following an evacuation area can be found in the Guide to Re-Entry After an Evacuation. Please watch for livestock and wildlife on roads,” said the CRD.
However, returning residents are urged to remain cautious, as they are returning under an evacuation alert.
