Kamloops Council to decide final price for Dufferin Multiplex project
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops city council is set to discuss the finalized price of the Dufferin Arena Multiplex, now with a project budget $14 million more than their previous estimate.
The city says the facility – at 2070 Hillside Drive – is being developed using an integrated project delivery model similar to the Kamloops Centre for the Arts project downtown, which is currently under construction.
According to a memo prepared for City Council’s Tuesday meeting, the recommended option includes a $168.1 million price tag, up from the previous estimate of $154 million.
The memo said the recommended option for the completed Multiplex Arena includes four skating rinks — three NHL-sized and one mini-rink — and a library space, with plans to expand in the future.
