Investigators deemed the circumstances surrounding Bain’s death to be suspicious.

“The vehicle, a black 2019 Volkswagen Golf, is believed to have been intentionally set on fire along the service road,” RCMP say. “Prior to the fire, the vehicle was observed travelling within the North Shore area of Kamloops accompanied by a blue vehicle.”

Investigators are still seeking information surrounding the circumstances leading up to the homicide.

“Investigators are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who may have seen the victim prior to the incident,” RCMP add.

Bain’s mother made a pair of social media posts on Sept. 2, 2025, indicating her son had died.

“My beautiful son Dillen,” Tina Bain wrote. “Your life was stolen from us, and my heart will never be the same. I promise you, I will not stop until there is justice for you. Your name will never fade, and your truth will be heard.”
