Man faces charges in five incidents in Salmon Arm, remains in custody

In a separate news release issued Thursday, RCMP say charges have been approved against Kilmartin for the following incidents:

June 15, 2026, at 11:00 p.m. – one count of mischief, one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of break and enter – a report of a break-in at H2O4U in Salmon Arm. RCMP say there was no surveillance video, but a foot impression was obtained.

June 17, 2026, at around 3:00 p.m. – one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of credit card obtained by crime and one count of use of credit card obtained by crime – report of a stolen wallet from an unlocked vehicle and unfamiliar charges to the owner’s credit card. RCMP say they obtained video from the locations where the credit card was used and identified Kilmartin.

June 19, 2026, at around 9:00 a.m. – one count of mischief and one count of theft under $5,000 – a report of damage and theft to a water vending machine at an H2O4U location. RCMP say video surveillance allowed them to identify a suspect. The damage total was $7,716.

June 19, 2026 – one count of theft under $5,000 – a report of headphones being stolen from a business. RCMP say staff provided a photo of the suspect, and they were identified and arrested on the same day.

“Salmon Arm RCMP are pleased to have identified and obtained multiple charges against the accused,” Hodges says. “These investigations take time to collect evidence, put together a report for BC Prosecution and finally for BC Prosecution to make their charge assessment.”
