Broncos suffer second straight shutout defeat, fall to Raiders 77-0

KAMLOOPS — For the second week in a row, the Kamloops Broncos were shut out in another lopsided defeat. 


The Broncos fell to the Vancouver Island Raiders in Nanaimo Saturday (Aug. 15) 77-0. The score was 61-0 at halftime. 

Starting quarterback and South Kamloops alumnus Cole Rigler didn’t play for the Broncos. As a team, the Broncos completed four of 21 pass attempts for 45 yards and threw two interceptions. 

Running back Owen Stockbruegger ran for 47 yards on 11 attempts, with his longest run going for 20 yards. As a team, the Broncos ran for 70 yards. 

Kamloops’ junior football club falls to 0-4 on the 2026 BC Football Conference season, tied with the Valley Huskers of Chilliwack for last in the overall standings. The Broncos have scored seven points in four games. Kamloops hasn’t scored since Rigler threw the team’s only touchdown of the season to Lloyd Heggen in the first quarter of their second game against the Prince George Kodiaks. 

The Broncos welcome the 1-3 Kodiaks to Hillside Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 22. Kickoff is at 6:00 p.m.
