Salmon Arm council renews Downtown Business Improvement Area for seven years
SALMON ARM, B.C. — Businesses in Salmon Arm will be able to take advantage of a municipal fund aimed at improving the city’s downtown core.
This comes as Salmon Arm City Council passed the Business Improvement Area (BIA) Bylaw No. 4746, renewing the Downtown Salmon Arm Business Improvement Area for seven years, from January 1, 2027 through December 31, 2033.
The renewed bylaw comes with an annual maximum grant amount, from $254,460 in 2027 to $328,166 to 2033, with the funding collected from downtown businesses.
“The funding is not collected through general taxation. BIA grants are recovered through an annual levy on eligible Class 5 and Class 6 properties located within the Downtown Business Improvement Area,” said the City of Salmon Arm.
