July 29, 1941 – August 3, 2026 

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd on August 3, 2026, after suffering a large hemorrhagic stroke on Sunday, July 26, 2026. 

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife Elma and daughters Karen (Keith), Dawn and Tyrina (Justin). Grandchildren Matthew (Julia), Meghan, Emily, Hunter (Sophie), Atticus, Jaxen and great-grandchild Alexander. He was predeceased by his parents, 11 siblings and his first wife, Darlene. He is survived by his brother Allan. 

Dad grew up on a farm in Saskatchewan and then moved to B.C. He lived in Mica Creek from 1967 to 1977, then in Armstrong from 1977 to 1988 where he commuted to work in Revelstoke and owned a small hobby farm with his first wife Darlene, Karen and Dawn. After the Revelstoke Dam project was completed, he moved to the Lower Mainland for work. There he met Elma and her daughter, Tyrina. They lived in the Adanac Co-op in Vancouver and after a number of years, he and Elma moved on to Scotch Creek and then to Kamloops. 

Dad retired early from a career in payroll and learned to golf with a good group of friends. He enjoyed this sport immensely and grew to love the challenges at Pine Ridge Golf Course. Dad loved pattern dancing with Elma and was once in the paper while the Old Time Fiddlers played. 

Dad spent years creating an oasis of his yard and garden at their home in Hidden Valley in Kamloops. Dad and Elma moved to The Shores a few years ago and were married in March of 2024. Dad loved a good card game, and I remember him loving the games Aggravation and Rummoli, among others. He adored all of his grandchildren and was especially thrilled by his first great-grandchild, Alexander (Hunter and Sophie). 

We will greatly miss his quiet strong presence; he never judged and always supported his children. He will be remembered fondly by family and friends. 

Thank you, dad, for being you; organized, prepared, and clear with your wishes for life. It made the hard decisions following your stroke easier knowing what you expected us to do. We love you and will miss you greatly. 

In the past few months and this last week of his life, we had the privilege of meeting some amazing doctors and nurses. We’d like to express our thanks to the following: Dr. Doughty, Dr Johnson, Dr Grab, Dr Prasad, Dr “Ben” Gershkovich, the stroke team, emergency paramedics, emergency nurses and the whole staff in the ICU department at RIH. 

We felt supported, cared for as a family and heard when decisions were being made. 

Dad spent his last seven days at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home where we were surrounded by loving, caring, and gentle staff. We can never thank you enough for walking us through some of the hardest days of our lives.
