Man injured, three suspects arrested in targeted Salmon Arm shooting

SALMON ARM B.C. — Three suspects are in custody in connection to what Salmon Arm RCMP believe to have been a targeted shooting over the weekend.

At about 5:21 p.m. on Saturday (August 8), Salmon Arm RCMP were dispatched to a call about a shooting in the 300 block of Fraser Avenue NW.

Police officials said a man was shot and went into a nearby business to ask for help.

Officers found the victim with injuries that were determined to be non-life-threatening. BC Emergency Health Services took him to the hospital for treatment.

RCMP said the suspects fled the area in a white pickup truck before officers arrived, and the search was on.

Police officials said investigators found a suspect and a vehicle believed to be connected with the shooting.

That vehicle was later found at a home in Sicamous, where officers descended to search the property and apprehend the suspects without incident.

Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Police Dog Services (PDS) aided officers on the scene.

“This was a coordinated effort involving multiple policing units that resulted in the timely identification and arrest of the suspects,” said Staff Sergeant Simon Scott of the Salmon Arm RCMP.

“While arrests have been made, the investigation remains ongoing and further details cannot be released at this time.”
