100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The District of 100 Mile House has elevated its water restrictions as wildfires rage across the region.

With the newly heightened restriction, residents can only water once per week.

Even numbered properties can water on Saturdays and even numbered properties can only water on Sundays.

The District of 100 Mile House said watering times are between 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. only.

For properties with multiple units, your unit number is used to determine if your address is even or odd.

“Hand watering is permitted every day for food and flower gardens. No pool filling, vehicle washing or hard surface washing,” said 100 Mile House officials.

“The fine for watering outside of permitted days and times is $50.00 and each occurrence is deemed to be a separate offence.”

You can check 100 Mile’s website for updates on water restrictions.
