KAMLOOPS — Kamloops International Cup women’s soccer action is slated to begin this weekend.

Top-flight English professional team Nottingham Forest will square off against Vancouver Rise FC Academy, with kickoff slated for 6:00 p.m. Saturday (July 25) at Hillside Stadium.

The tournament schedule has been altered due to wildfires burning in the province, with Cavalry FC II of Calgary no longer participating. All matches and youth camps involving Cavalry FC II have been cancelled, and refunds will be offered.

“While we are disappointed that we will not be able to welcome Cavalry FC II to Kamloops this year, the safety and well-being of players, staff, participants, and our community must remain the priority,” Tournament Director Lyle Dos Santos said.
