Jesmond, Chasm on evacuation order; 70 Mile House on alert due to ‘aggressive’ Fiftynine Creek fire
CLINTON, B.C. — There are more evacuation orders and alerts in effect north and west of the Village of Clinton as a pair of wildfires continue to run amok in the south Cariboo.
Friday (July 24) afternoon, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) expanded evacuation orders in connection with the Fiftynine Creek fire. There are now approximately 280 properties on evacuation order, up from the previous estimate of approximately 193 properties.
People in approximately 87 properties in the Jesmond and Chasm area have been told to leave immediately. Affected properties include:
- 75 Big Bar Rd;
- 5930 to 8065 Big Bar Rd;
- 800 to 1420 Chasm Rd;
- 5445 High Bar Rd;
- 48 to 9754 Hwy 97
- 8336 to 10843 Jesmond Rd;
- 8856 Liden Rd;
- 25 Meadow Lake Rd;
- 1740 to 2025 Mound Rd;
- 1357 to 2025 Mound-Loon Rd;
- 802 River Lakes Rd; and
- Any other areas as outlined on this map.
