New affordable seniors housing complex opens in Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — More than two years after construction began, a new 36-unit affordable housing complex for seniors in Williams Lake is now welcoming residents.

The new complex, located at 564 Oliver St., features one-bedroom units for independent seniors with low to moderate incomes, including eight wheelchair accessible ground-level units.

BC Housing said construction on Glen Arbor Phase II began in May 2024 and connects to the Glen Arbor Seniors Residence via hallways on the first, second and third floors.

The development is located within walking distance of multiple community amenities, including grocery stores, city hall, a health facility, a seniors’ activity centre, post office and the RCMP detachment.
