RCMP searching for 500-kilogram sculpture stolen from the Shuswap

SALMON ARM, B.C. — RCMP in the Shuswap are looking for a missing heavy sculpture after an apparent coordinated effort to steal it. 

In a news release issued Friday (July 24), Salmon Arm RCMP say the sculpture with a mix of rock and steel with red paint on it was stolen from Tappen Bluffs, near Skimikin Road and Platt Road in Tappen. 

According to RCMP, the sculpture weighs close to 500 kilograms, or 1,100 lbs, and it would require multiple people or equipment to move it. 

Anyone who witnessed the sculpture being stolen, or has information on its whereabouts, is asked to contact Salmon Arm RCMP at 250-832-6044.
