June 3, 1940 – July 8, 2026
It is with deep sadness and gratitude for a life well lived that we announce the passing of Beverley Anne Sylvia Hillrich, who passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at the age of 86.
Bev is survived by her son, Craig and his wife Marilyn as well as their children Jordan and Geneva; brothers, Ken (Cheryl) Meyer and Gerry Meyer; sisters, Judy Eberle (Meyer) and Sandy Read (Meyer) and numerous nieces and nephews; brother in-law Robert Hoffert (Debbie); sister in-law Karen Hoffert and partner Donna.
Bev was pre-deceased by her husband Jordan Reginald Hillrich, son Quinn Bentley, sister Mona Ploughman (Meyer) and her parents Nelson and Louise Meyer.
Bev was born to Nelson and Louise Meyer at Edenwold, SK, on June 3, 1940. When she was five, the family moved to Regina, SK, where she attended school at Wascana Elementary and Scott Collegiate before joining the workforce. The eldest of six siblings, Bev helped Louise with the children while she was still living at home. Jordan and Bev were married in Regina on October 18, 1958. Quinn Bentley was born in September 1962 and passed away from heart condition in December of same year. Craig was born in 1966. After her husband Jordan passed away in 1998, Bev continued to work in Regina until retirement at age 67. In 2014, Bev joined Craig and Marilyn and family on their move to Kamloops, B.C. She enjoyed spending time with family and their dog Gidget. Bev’s favourite pastime was spending afternoons in the backyard tending to flowers, reading and doing crossword puzzles. No cheating, mom.
Always a hard worker and champion of labour rights, most will remember Bev for her strength and determination. Bev summoned this strength to successfully overcome cancer twice as well as many other medical challenges common with ageing. She was able to spend her last years mostly independent until admission to hospital in May.
“Grammie’s” love, commitment and support of her family will be forever cherished.
A Celebration of Life and private internment will be held in Regina for family and friends at a later date.
You may offer a message of condolence at Schoening Funeral Service for the Hillrich family.
