Taylor Swift Paid Over $160,000 For NYC Permit Ahead Of MSG Wedding
New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani confirmed Friday that Taylor Swift paid more than $160,000 for a city permit tied to her Madison Square Garden wedding with Travis Kelce. “Taylor Swift has paid already the cost of the permit that was lodged, which was over $160,000 for that event and for the response to that event,” Mamdani said. The permit was finalized days before the July 4th ceremony, which required street closures around Midtown Manhattan. Republican Rep. Nicole Malliotakis criticized the couple, demanding they “reimburse NYPD for the 130 officers needed per day.” Prior to the wedding, Swift and Kelce donated $26 million across 20 U.S. charities. Luxury planner Lindsay Landman estimated the wedding’s total cost between $20 and $25 million.
