Kamloops woman finds mutilated marmot at McArthur Island playground
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops woman made an alarming discovery on Friday (July 10) morning when she found a mutilated and dismembered marmot carcass at the playground on McArthur Island.
Janice Bradley was at the park for an early game of disc golf with her husband when she found animal’s body without skin, limbs, tail or head shortly after 5 a.m.
“We had just started our golf game and I was walking along the path. I didn’t know what it was, so I approached it and thought it was very unusual. I felt nauseated. It looked fresh because blood was still oozing out of the neck area,” said Bradley.
“It was about 75 feet away from the playground. I looked in the area and felt that something was wrong. You could really smell the blood.”
