Barriere Library meeting room gets tech upgrades

BARRIERE, B.C. — New technology upgrades have been unveiled at the Barriere Library’s meeting room to benefit local users.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) said the project was partially supported by a grant from the North Thompson Community Forest Society (LNTCFS) Community Grant Program.

“The generosity of the LNTCFS Community Grant Program helped support this technology improvement project,” said Melissa Lowenberg, Manager of Community Libraries and Engagement.

The TNRD said the upgrades include a large TV screen and a new wireless system for people to connect their laptop without cables. Users can also use a small USB button to instantly connect for video calls, presentations, or hybrid meetings.
