TNRD seeking details on Ferry Road Park vandalism

CLEARWATER, B.C. — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) is looking for details regarding what it calls “significant” vandalism at Ferry Road Park in Blackpool.

The TNRD said paint was sprayed on trees, garbage bins, on the park bench and throughout the outhouse at the park shortly before June 29. The outhouse door actuator was also broken, preventing the door from closing.

The TNRD said work on repairing the damage is well underway.

“Repair costs are funded through the park operating budget, which is unfortunately a detriment to law-abiding, taxpaying citizens,” said the TNRD in a news release issued Monday (July 6).
