Minions & Monsters earned $36.4 million in its opening three-day weekend and $61.4 million over the five-day July 4 holiday — enough to place No. 1 but still a franchise low. Previous entries Despicable Me 4 and Minions: The Rise of Gru each earned over $120 million in comparable five-day runs. Overseas, the film performed stronger, grossing $98.43 million across 71 markets. Toy Story 5 landed at No. 2 with $31 million, while newcomer Young Washington surprised at No. 3 with $16.5 million. Supergirl faced a staggering 74% decline, placing No. 4 with $9.6 million. Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day rounds out the top five with $6 million in its fourth weekend.
