Ashley Tisdale is executive producing a half-hour dark comedy series for Netflix called Toxic Moms, following her viral January essay about “breaking up” with a toxic mom group. The piece ignited online speculation about which celebrities were involved, notably prompting Hilary Duff’s husband to call Tisdale “The Most Self-Obsessed Tone Deaf Person On Earth” in a social media post. Search Party writer Sabrina Jalees is writing and executive producing, while Beef star Ali Wong joins as executive producer. The series centers on a sleep-deprived new mother navigating a group of wealthy, aspirational moms with a dark underbelly. Tisdale, known for High School Musical, previously executive produced ABC Family’s Young & Hungry.
