KAMLOOPS — The Detroit Red Wings picked J.P. Hurlbert in Round 1 of the NHL Draft on Friday [June 26] in Buffalo, New York.
Hurlbert excelled last season with the Kamloops Blazers, leading all WHL rookies with 42 goals and 97 points.
As CFJC Today reports, Hurlbert is proud of his ties to Michigan and Kamloops.
