Salmon Arm man charged in arson that destroyed bench, damaged bank

SALMON ARM, B.C. — A Salmon Arm man was charged in an arson case that took place late last fall. 

Salmon Arm RCMP say 40-year-old Dwayne Sampson was charged with one count of arson on Thursday (June 25). 

The charge stems from Nov. 21, 2025, where officers found a wood bench on fire in the 300-block of Hudson Avenue NE at around 1:20 a.m. 

According to RCMP, the fire reached nearly two metres in height and caused extensive damage to the outside of a nearby bank. However, no injuries were reported.
