Legendary Entertainment has taken over The Magic School Bus live-action film from Universal, reviving the project after six years in development. Elizabeth Banks will play the adventurous teacher Ms. Frizzle. Rob Letterman, known for Shark Tale and Detective Pikachu, will write and direct. Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday renewed her plea for information about her missing mother, Nancy, after reports of a note claiming the 84-year-old was dead. Peacock has canceled its Cold War-era espionage series Ponies after one season, about five months after it debuted for binge viewing on January 15. Set in 1977 Moscow, the drama stars Emilia Clarke and Haley Lu Richardson as secretaries at the U.S. embassy who become CIA operatives following their husbands’ mysterious deaths. Lionsgate has scheduled its remake of The Blair Witch Project for release on September 24, 2027. The studio describes the upcoming film as a “new vision” that will “reintroduce this horror classic for a new generation.” Director Dylan Clark, who began his career on YouTube, will lead the project. Lincoln Center Theater will stage new Broadway revivals of The Sound of Music and A Few Good Men during its 2026–2027 season. A 13-year-old boy climbed out of a moving boat on Disneyland’s Tiana’s Bayou Adventure Sunday, sliding down a 52-foot water flume drop. A cast member immediately stopped the ride, though the teen continued along part of the course before being assisted by other cast members.
