CSRD looking to borrow $8M for Shuswap fire halls
ANGLEMONT, B.C. — The Columbia Shuswap Regional District (CSRD) will seek resident approval for a pair of long-term loans totalling $8 million to rebuild the Scotch Creek / Lee Creek Fire Hall and build a new fire hall in Anglemont.
The CSRD said it will launch a pair off alternative approval processes (AAP) for both projects on Monday, June 29.
An AAP means at least 10 per cent of eligible electors must voice their opposition to get the CSRD to consider a different approach.
“Only residents and non-resident property owners in the Electoral Area ‘F’ Sub-Regional Fire Service Area will be affected and allowed to submit elector response forms to oppose the borrowing,” said the CSRD.
