Camryn Rogers wins fifth straight women’s hammer throw national title

OTTAWA — Camryn Rogers won her fifth straight national title with a victory in the women’s hammer throw at the Canadian track and field championships on Thursday.

The Richmond, B.C., native threw 76.17 metres to handily win the event.

Jillian Weir (69.50) and Jinaye Shomachuk (69.27) finished second and third.

Rogers, a two-time world champion and Olympic gold medallist, has a personal best of 81.13 metres that she set on April 2.
