Daveigh Chase, ‘Lilo & Stitch’ And ‘The Ring’ Actress, Dies At 35

Daveigh Chase, the child star who played Samara in horror film The Ring and voiced Lilo in Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, died Tuesday at age 35. Her boyfriend Roy Hernandez told TMZ that Chase died after battling meningitis and blood infections that caused septic complications. Born in 1990, Chase earned an MTV Movie Award for best villain for The Ring and an Annie Award for her voice work in Lilo & Stitch, both in 2002. She also appeared in Donnie Darko and HBO’s Big Love across 32 episodes. Her final acting credit was in 2016 for video game Let It Die. Hernandez had recently launched a GoFundMe campaign describing Chase’s critical condition.
