KAMLOOPS — A woman who admitted to igniting a series of fires in the woods around Kamloops four years ago has been charged with setting a house on fire in the Sagebrush area last November.

The new charges stem from a house fire on November 13, 2025 in the 700-block of Dominion Street.

At the time, Kamloops RCMP say the suspect had been suffering from a mental health crisis, setting her own home ablaze before making her way toward nearby Lloyd George Elementary School.

Authorities put the school on a brief ‘hold and secure’ protocol while they responded to the incident.

Court records show Angela Cornish is now facing four charges – arson damaging property, mischief and two counts of assault.

Cornish was released on bail after a hearing on Monday (June 15). She is due back in court on June 25.

On May 11, 2022, Cornish was arrested after several suspicious fires were found and extinguished in the Monte Lake area.

Court records show Cornish was under police surveillance in the days leading up to her arrest due to suspicion surrounding her involvement in previously discovered fires.

She later pleaded guilty to intentionally or recklessly causing damage by fire Crown land and received a six-month conditional sentence.
