Oliver Tree, Viral Singer And Comedian, Dies At 32 In Helicopter Crash

Singer Oliver Tree died Sunday in a helicopter crash in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, at age 32. Tree was among six people killed when two helicopters collided in Recreio dos Bandeirantes. The crash occurred over an electric vehicle yard, setting at least 20 cars ablaze with no survivors. Born Oliver Tree Nickell in Santa Cruz, California, he gained fame through Vine with his “Turbo” persona before his 2017 hit “When I’m Down” led to an Atlantic Records deal. Known for songs like “Life Goes On,” “Miss You,” and “Alien Boy,” Tree released four albums with Atlantic Records, with his final album “Love You Madly, Hate You Badly” dropping in April.
