100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — The emergency room at the 100 Mile District General Hospital will be closed for 13 hours on Friday, marking the 18th ER closure this year.

Interior Health said the 100 Mile House ER will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., but all other inpatient services will be available in the meantime.

Those seeking emergency care can go to the Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake during the closure, which is an hour-long drive away.

“People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility,” said Interior Health officials.
