RCMP resume search for paddleboarders near Squamish, B.C.
VANCOUVER — A spokesperson for the RCMP says that the search for two individuals who had been paddleboarding in a provincial park has resumed.
Cpl. Katrina Boehmer of the Sea to Sky RCMP detachment based in Squamish, B.C., says police received a report Saturday around 3 p.m. of two individuals who failed to resurface after paddleboarding on Browning Lake in Murrin Provincial Park.
Boehmer says Squamish RCMP, including RCMP Air Services, responded to the scene to assist Squamish Search and Rescue, Squamish Fire Rescue and Park Rangers in their search.
She says searchers have since resumed their search Sunday, adding that the park, located about two kilometres north of Britannia Beach and nine kilometres south of Squamish, remains closed.
