It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Stephens of Kamloops, B.C., on May 16, 2026, at 87 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife Marilyn, stepsons John Stanga of Hay River, NWT, Brian Stanga of Endako, B.C., and Lenard Stanga (Heidi Specht) of Vancouver, B.C., as well as grandchildren Andrea, Laura, Teri, Jessie, Dezra, Riley, John, David and Milan, and great-grandchildren Oliver and Abrielle. Glen was predeceased by his parents Mervin and Clara Stephens.
Glen grew up on a farm in Lyleton, MB. As an adult, he worked in several mines across Canada. He spent the last 24 years of his working life at Highland Valley Copper, where he retired in 1998.
Glen and Marilyn married in 1984, and he became a great-stepdad to Marilyn’s three sons. After his retirement, he and Marilyn spent much of their time travelling throughout North America. His great love was skiing, and he spent many happy winters at Sun Peaks skiing with the “Sun Peaks Antiques”.
Glen’s health began failing several years ago. He spent the last three years at Ridgeview Lodge Nursing Home in Kamloops. The family would like to thank the staff there for their many kindnesses and their concern for his well-being.
There will be no formal ceremony. A private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery later this year.
You may offer a message of condolence at Cypress Funeral and Cremation Services for the Stephens family.
