UPDATE: Fire near rail tracks west of Savona being held

SAVONA, B.C. — (UPDATE 5:00 p.m.): A wildfire that broke out near Thompson River Estates west of Savona is being held at three hectares in size.

The Jimmies Creek fire was discovered earlier Thursday (May 28) burning adjacent to the CN Rail tracks on the southern bank of the Thompson River.

BCWS has listed no other details about its response on its website.

The fire danger rating is moderate-to-high in this area of the Kamloops Fire Centre.
