CHASE, B.C. — Chase RCMP are investigating a break-in at a rural property where a pair of recreational vehicles and various items were stolen.

Police officials said unknown suspects cut the gate lock to a rural property on Loakin-Bear Creek Road near Chase.

The suspects broke into the home and several out buildings at around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, May 11.

“Investigators believe the suspects may have used a pry bar located on the property to gain entry,” said Chase RCMP officials.

“Stolen items included a green Polaris Sportsman 500 ATV, a camouflage Arctic Cat Prowler side-by-side, various household items, and the home security system.”

Police said the security system captured images of a white Jeep believed to be associated with the incident.

The vehicle was later found overturned in a nearby creek, and investigators determined it was previously stolen from Kamloops. Police recovered and towed the vehicle from the scene.

“RCMP Forensic Identification Services attended and processed the property, collecting evidence as part of the ongoing investigation,” said Chase RCMP officials.
