July 22, 1934 – December 25, 2025
Bob Mistal of Kamloops, at 91 years old, passed away on December 25, 2025, at Kamloops Seniors Village. He was born Robert John Mistal on July 22, 1934, to Mike and Nellie Mistal in Brandon, Manitoba.
Bob studied accounting in his early years, which led to a long career as a businessman in Brandon, Dawson Creek, and Kamloops. Bob and his partner enjoyed many successful years in road construction, large earth-moving projects, building construction, trailer manufacturing and land development. You can point to many buildings and land improvements throughout Kamloops dating back to the 1960s.
Bob was married to Darlene Mistal of Brandon, Manitoba, who passed away on July 16, 2005. They had two sons, Randy (Michelle) of Kamloops and Rob (Andrea) of Kelowna, who both went to school and grew up in Kamloops. Bob is survived by his two sons and their partners, four grandchildren (Courtney, Brandon, Kale, and Rylan), and one great-grandson (Maverick).
Bob will be remembered for his generosity to his family and church. It seemed like he had bought lunch for almost everyone he knew at some point, and he may be best known for asking, “Can I buy you a soup and sandwich?” when lunchtime rolled around. Thank you for all the lunches and dinners, Bob!
Extra special thanks to all the kind people at Kamloops Seniors Village who provided such thoughtful care for Bob over the years. Bob and Darlene are now resting beside each other at Hillside Cemetery in Kamloops.
We miss your smiling faces, Bob and Darlene!
