KAMLOOPS — Another survey from the province is making the rounds in the Kamloops area regarding forest management.

Officials with B.C.’s Ministry of Forests are inviting residents in the North and South Thompson regions, along with the Shuswap, area to participate in a survey and attend one of eight open houses – one being virtual – to help develop the Thompson River Watersheds Forest Landscape Plan.

The survey runs until July 20, 2026.

In a news release issued Wednesday (May 20), the province says developing forest landscape plans is a new approach to forest stewardship that establishes clear direction for forest-related management. That includes old forests, biodiversity, ecosystem health, climate change, watershed health and wildfire risk.

Once feedback is received, the province says it will incorporate feedback into the Thompson River Watersheds Forest Landscape Plan.

A separate survey and series of open houses are running concurrently in the Thompson and Nicola regions.
