ABC Orders New ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Spinoff Set In West Texas

ABC has greenlit a fourth Grey’s Anatomy spinoff premiering during the 2026-2027 broadcast season. Series creator Shonda Rhimes co-creates and executive produces the untitled one-hour drama, which is described as “an edgy drama about a team at a West Texas rural medical center — the last chance for care before miles of nowhere.” Ellen Pompeo, Grey’s Anatomy star and executive producer, will also produce the spin-off, though connections between the spinoff and original series remain unclear, including whether her character Meredith Grey or other established characters will appear. This follows previous spinoffs Private Practice, Station 19, and Grey’s Anatomy: B-Team.
