Two people taken to hospital after vehicle plunges into North Thompson River off Schubert Drive
KAMLOOPS — Two people were taken to Royal Inland Hospital after a vehicle plunged into the North Thompson River Sunday (May 17) evening.
BC Emergency Health Services (BC EHS) told CFJC Today that it was notified at 6:17 p.m. about a vehicle that left Schubert Drive at Juniper Street and landed in the river. It dispatched an ambulance with advanced care paramedics, four ambulances with primary care paramedics and a paramedic supervisor units to the scene.
“Paramedics provided medical treatment to two patients – one an occupant of the vehicle and one a passerby helping at the scene – both of whom were transported to hospital in stable condition,” BCEHS said in its statement.
Avoid Schubert Drive between Evans and Birch, as its closed right now.
