Lillooet emergency department to close amid May Long Weekend

LILLOOET, B.C. — The Lillooet Hospital emergency department will be closed for a day over the May Long Weekend.

Interior Health said emergency services will be unavailable from 7 a.m. on Saturday (May 16) to 8 a.m. Sunday (May 17), but all other inpatient services will remain operational.

In the meantime, patients can access care at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.

“People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility,” said Interior Health officials.
