Mother says body of man who jumped from Overlanders Bridge last summer has been found

KAMLOOPS — The mother of a young man who is presumed to have drowned after jumping from the Overlanders Bridge last summer says his body has been found.

Braden Wallace-Peters, 23, jumped from the west side of the bridge on July 30, 2025. Witnesses said he resurfaced for a brief moment before slipping back under the water. Rescue efforts were not successful.

For days after the incident, police officers, firefighters and volunteers searched the river and its banks, finding no sign of the man. The search resumed in October.
