Rainy conditions trigger closure of all City of Kamloops grass sports fields

KAMLOOPS — The heavy rain in the Interior Wednesday (May 13) has prompted the City of Kamloops to close all municipal grass sports fields.

Parks and Streets Manager Jeff Putnam made the announcement via social media Wednesday afternoon.

Hillside Stadium and sports fields on school properties are not included in the restriction.

“The current conditions have made the fields unsafe for play, and this measure is necessary to prevent damage,” said Putnam.
