St. Andrew’s on the Square ready for the public nearly two years after catching fire
KAMLOOPS — Nearly two years after sustaining significant fire, smoke and water damage, Kamloops’ oldest public building is set to reopen.
The City of Kamloops says $1.1 million in restoration work at St. Andrew’s on the Square is complete, restoring the building at 159 Seymour St. to its pre-fire condition.
In a news release issued Monday (May 11), the city says improvements include accessibility upgrades, enhanced security such as exterior cameras, restored heritage features and updated technology for events and live streaming.
