Disney’s The Devil Wears Prada 2 held the top position at domestic theaters, earning $43 million and pushing its North American revenue to $144.8 million. The ensemble comedy has generated $288.4 million overseas, reaching a worldwide total of $433 million across two weekends. Warner Bros.’ Mortal Kombat II, a martial arts-themed follow-up, debuted in second place with $40 million. Michael claimed third position, collecting $36.5 million in its third weekend with only a 33% drop from the previous frame. New releases Sheep Detectives, a mystery comedy, and Billie Eilish – Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live in 3D), a concert documentary, secured fourth and fifth spots with $15.9 million and $7.5 million respectively. The Eilish film, co-directed by James Cameron and the artist, achieved a 93% Rotten Tomatoes score and “A” CinemaScore rating.
