Ted Turner, founder of CNN and a major force in global media and philanthropy, has died at 87. Turner revealed in 2018 that he had Lewy body dementia. He launched CNN in 1980, creating the first 24-hour news network. Turner also owned the Atlanta Braves. Turner gave $1 billion to create the United Nations Foundation in 1997. Story URL

Matthew Lillard has joined the cast of Superman: Man of Tomorrow, the follow-up to the 2025 hit Superman. His character has not yet been revealed. The film continues after the events of Superman, as the hero joins forces with Lex Luther, played by Nicholas Hoult, to battle Brainiac, portrayed by Lars Eidinger. Kim Kardashian is pausing her pursuit of a law career. Sources tell TMZ she skipped the February bar exam and does not plan to take the July test either. Aspiring lawyers can sit for the bar twice a year, but Kardashian reportedly will not try again until 2027. The first exam next year is scheduled for February, with registration set to close in January. Story URL

Oscar Isaac will headline a new Netflix drama set in a Las Vegas casino. The untitled series has received an eight-episode order. The hour-long series follows Robert “Bobby Red” Redman, played by Isaac, the president of a top Las Vegas hotel casino navigating high-stakes power struggles. HBO has renewed its upcoming Harry Potter series for a second season ahead of the show’s upcoming first-season premiere this Christmas. The network has announced plans to adapt all seven of J.K. Rowling’s books into seven television seasons over the next decade. Season 2, based on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, begins filming this fall. Story URL

FX confirmed that The Bear will end with its fifth season, premiering June 25th on Hulu. All eight episodes will be released at once, available for streaming at 6 p.m. PT. Influencer Braden Peters, known online as Clavicular, faces charges for unlawfully discharging a firearm in the Florida Everglades. Authorities say a video shows Peters and two others firing several rounds at what appeared to be a dead alligator on March 26th at a Everglades Wildlife Management Area. Former President Obama says the U.S. government has no secret evidence of alien life. “One of the things you learn as president is the government is terrible at keeping secrets,” he told Stephen Colbert. Singer Bonnie Tyler is recovering after emergency intestinal surgery at a hospital in Faro, Portugal, where she maintains a home. The 74-year-old performer, best known for “Total Eclipse Of The Heart,” underwent the procedure successfully and is now recuperating.
