May 20, 1948 – April 30, 2026
We, the children of Stan Dilling, age 78, regretfully announce his peaceful passing on April 30, 2026, at Poplar Ridge Pavilion in Trail, B.C.
Born March 20, 1948, in Trail, Dad later made Kamloops his home from 1986 to 2014, where he built much of his life and career before eventually returning to Trail. He is predeceased by his wife and soulmate of 23 years, Dorothy; his parents, Eugene and Joyce Dilling; and his sisters, Yvonne and Elaine. He leaves behind his children: Dana (Shawn) of River Bourgeois, NS; Kimberly (Jay) of West Kelowna, B.C.; and Shane (Stephanie) Dilling of Kamloops, B.C. He also leaves behind his brothers, Doug (Maureen) and Jerry (Cathy), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Stan will be dearly missed by his special friend and neighbour, Farrel. Dad was incredibly proud of his seven grandchildren — Jaxon, Dylan, Ryan, Karli, Emma, Charlie, and Olive.
Dad spent most of his life as a well-known and highly respected welder throughout B.C. and Alberta. He had a passion for the simple pleasures in life: good food, cold beer, hunting, fishing, gardening, and listening to good music. He was also famously dedicated to growing his “ladies,” taking great pride in his cannabis garden — whether tending to it, sampling it, or incorporating it into his cooking and baking.
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the compassionate staff at Poplar Ridge Pavilion in Trail, whose kindness, respect, and attentive care over the past four years meant more to us than words can fully express.
At dad’s request, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place. He will now spend eternity reunited with our mom.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
