Wildfire breaks out northwest of Merritt

KAMLOOPS FIRE CENTRE — The BC Wildfire service is monitoring a human-caused wildfire northwest of Merritt.

The BCWS said the fire was reported on Saturday (May 2) in the Inkikuh Creek area, about 75 kilometres northwest of Merritt and 10 kilometres north of Spences Bridge.

As of Sunday afternoon (May 3), the wildfire is burning out of control across an estimated three hectares of land.

The BCWS does not currently have any firefighters or equipment tasked to the fire.
