Closures planned for Highway 1 between Columbia Street and Summit Drive
KAMLOOPS — Traffic along Highway 1 between Kamloops’ Columbia Street exit and Summit Drive on-ramp will be disrupted as the B.C. government begins construction on the overpass next Saturday (May 9).
The province said the work will have eastbound lanes closed for about four weeks while a construction crew replaces the bridge joints on the overpass.
“This involves pouring new concrete to maintain the structure in good operating condition, so drivers may not see crews onsite while the concrete is curing,” said the B.C. government.
Vehicles traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction on the westbound overpass from 3:30 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., with a 3.8-metre width restriction.
